Received quite a few ang pows this year, dun really have the thrill and excitement of celebrating chinese new year liao.. too old liao but i have to say frankly that the money does come in handy at this point of time *grins* can survive a while longer. the question that make me wince eveytime it s asked this year? "So Karen, where are u working now?"or"why u quit your job before finding a new one?" when i say i am looking and for 2 months liao, you can just see in on their faces.. the disinterest and the end of conversations.. sigh.. well you just have to grin and bear with it and say things such as "oh, i wanted a break or the economy was not that good" blah blah...well, its over and guess what? i fell sick on the 3rd day of chinese new year!argh... had a running nose, cough and headache. i had to cut short my visiting period and come back to rest. looks like the prediction for the dog this year is quite accurate. better take care of myself man and not make nay big investments..hahah.. still having my cough and i hate it when i cant spit out the phlegm.. too uncouth for me and i have to swallow that big glop of phlegm when it comes out.. everyone say eugh..me being sick took away some of my good spirit and left me disoriented and fell like collapsing everytime and i was like this wheezing witch making things hard for everyone especially my dear.. sorry baby,i promise to take good care of you when you are sick.
but with strong medicine, today i am up and about, thats why i have not been updating so often,like anyone cares like that. dun think anyone is reading this blog but heck la, i feel so accomplished when i see my blog and it makes me remember the good memories... and ya the bad ones at that too..
Went to carine's house on Fri night to eat dinner with my ex office pple. must admit felt abit lost at times when they chattered about work, but they did make the effort to include me in and i still rem some stuff and we just caught up over dinner. played with her cute and obedient doggy and her shy daughter. here i was making monkey faces and making her laugh and at the end she gives everyone a kiss and shakes her head at me, no kiss for me.. ta ma de.. what were the monkey faces for then??*disgruntled look* me and M1 joked that we two should open a childcare centre as we seemed to have the affinity for kids.. but after Kumon kids especially one that makes my blood boil everytime, i am not so sure anymore...
Small kids i can handle, with the crying and all, big kids.. i just want to smack them and tell them to grow up...
had a chance to meet up with my closest frens this year and i thank them for not giving up on me when i told them i was sick and they still remember to ask me out after that again.
this weekend was really fun, one of the most fun times i had. on sat i went to eat dinner with jad and her bf and dear at fisherman village. really laughed alot and just caught up with the old times.. after that we went to geri's bf Aison's house,and they started playing mahjong. i just sat there and held my dear's chips... not so much of a mahjong player..they played one round and it was real long. it lasted like 3 hours and we ended at 3am in the morning. we were so shagged that the last two rounds were like" eh dun tiao zheng anymore!"haaahh... we were so tired that we ignored our hungry stomaches to get a few more hours of sleep even. u must think aiya never mind, next day sleep longer la, but we made plans to go to the zoo!hhaaah. surprised?? all started with Jade saying that she has not seen ah meng for a long time and Geri had free tickets so it was decided that we shall go to the zoo on sunday..... in the end geri and aison did not go as aison had to study for his exam which was on fri.. and me, jade, brian and dear met at 1130am, but as expected jade and brian were late and we only went into the zoo at 12 plus... bintan also like that.. thats where they get their nickname"turtle " from.. we had fun man! dear had a fun time taking photos of all the animals that we met and we visited all the animals! no time for the shows though. took quite a few photos of us. will update later if blogger lets me..grrr
after that, the turtle couple said that they want to bring us to a place that is quite romantic and had good food.. so we ended up at jurong, near jurong birdpark and at a hill top. once i reached there, i was like ooohhh... i remember this place! i went there twice before and never rem what it was called but rem the place.i went there with my father's family before and remeber runnig up the tower..ooh.. long time ago. its this place that u can see jurong island at the other side and had this spiral place where i think couples can just hang out and enjoy each other's company.
we had japanese teppanyaki and we ate till we were so full. we had chicken, pork, soft shelled crad,salmon and veggies.. we were laughing that after the zoo, we were eating all the stuff that we saw.. pretty good place if you could afford it. each person had to pay about 25 dollars.. but it was pretty alright as the food was abit above standards. i for one thought that the veggies tasted bitter(not a veggie lover) and the egg had too much pepper and the garlic rice tasted burnt. the teriyaki chicken was superb though!loved it.. it was cooked for so long but it still remained so tender and juicy... yumm
After that, we had to haul our tired bodies back home as dear had stuff to do and had to sleep early. i also wanted to just bathe and drop dead on my bed but upon reaching home, i discovered my entire extended family at my house. it was because of an imprompto gathering after a day of sending wedding invites of my uncle's wedding to the older generation. only toppled into bed at about 11 plus..
this weekend was one of the times that i felt extremely close to dear. on sat we had a huge fight and after that, it was like we became closer than before and at the zoo, we were constantly holding each other and just enjoying each other's company.
