I have recovered from my depression hahaha, and am a useful person to the working world again! hahaah... nah, its just a contract for 2 months in a private bank, i started work on Mon and today is my second day. its been pretty ok so far and the job scope is fairly interesting and i am in the wealth management department which isnt so bad.. the CRM(Client relationship managers) are all real nice and i have a superb senior who is real nice to teach me the ropes and not throw me into the sea and leave me to drown.. she was from adecco too! she was a temp in yishun branch and adecco banking got her this job too. the downside of this position? that it is a short term contract of 2 months only. during the interview, i asked if there is any chance of conversion for this position and they told me frankly that headcount is real hard to get and takes real long. and then i found out that my senior is on contract too! damn! if there is a headcount,of course she gets it right?? ya,their headcount is real hard to get as headcount has to be approved from HK and from what i heard, the HR manager there is one tough cookie...so cannot justify the headcount. but i mean from my view, its justifiable to approve my senior's headcount. There are actually 3 CRM at the moment, but one is returning to Switzerland, so the senior Client relationship assistant has been promoted to be a CRM, and my senior will take over her duties and i hers... so senior should be converted soon i guess.
From what i heard, they want to hire a recruiter in may, but i am not qualified so i m just the recruitment assistant, in charge of their database system. but the pay is pretty good! For a 2 months contract, they are paying me a monthly salary. i was so happy to hear that! hope that i can get extended or converted eventually.location is also not bad, central and working hours are normal but in the banking no one goes home on the dot wan..
As for that screwed up second interview, i thought right. they never called me back anymore. well, take it with a pinch of salt, the job scope was abit demanding and had shift hours and it was like a call centre. i think i was interested in all due to the fact that my savings were running low and i was desperate for any job. well, at least things went right eventually.
Anyway, moving forward.. i want to find my long term career and settle down liao.. 24 this year and i am still at a loss of direction which is not good. see how this 2 months temp goes ba..
My sister gave me a scare yesterday. at work, i received a sms from her in shanghai saying that she lost her hp in the bus. she was crying as she was scared to tell my parents. i called her and realised that she dropped it in the bus that was ferrying them around, the bus driver said that he did not see anything when sweeping the floor and her frens could not find it after searching the bus. when i heard it, i had this feeling that it was stolen by either the bus driver or one of the students.the hp cant just go missing in a bus right?
Dunnow why when i heard my sister cry, i also got abit teared up. i am just a softie at heart i guess. anyway, i told her that i will tell our parents..we cancelled the sim card and all, and when i got home, she called and said that they found it.. guess where? in a dustbin at the bus terminal. what the? how did a hp end up there if no one took it?
So my family was speculating that someone did take it and saw that it was missed and a big hooha(cos the teacher got into the act too and did a search of all students' bags) was made, got scared and tossed it in the dustbin.or someone has a grudge against my sister and just wanted to spoil her holiday.. i mean put 80 kids together for 5 days, my sister said that there were alot of quarrels and stuff so a " small" person might have done it. anyway, will hear the whole story when she comes home tom!
last weekend was a super tiring day, had 2 events to organise and what a rish job it was. super tired. Had to organise a students' gathering for my aunt and provide the games, prizes and food on sat and a kid's birthday party on sunday.. i was abit worried at first as these were our first 2 events we were organising as a business.. well have to say it went pretty well. the kids enjoyed themselves, liked the games, no party poopers and no hicupps that i know about! Earned our profit from the kid's party and it is quite a lot! yay! got money flowing in.hope that more events come in and can earn some side cash.Have to say that my sister and cousin has a way with pple. glad that i got them to organise the games.they just have a way with pple.. hope that the parents would refer us to other pple i guess. would u spend one thousand dollars on a 7 year old kid's party? That's what our client did! where does all the moola come from? Kisses,
