i just wrote a long post and stupid blogger did not post it cos it went cuckoo on me... i dunnoe whether i have the energy to write the whole thing again. i want to sleep but i just started downloading Limewire unto my new laptop and i have to wait til its ready before shutting it down. Did you catch the the word "New Laptop"? Yes!i got a new laptop today! for $500 only! How cool is that? What happened is that my dad went to Carrefour and bought himself a laptop for $1200. When he came home and proudly strut his laptop, he could see the look of longing in my face and asked if i wanted him to reserve one for me. Actually i had been looking at laptops for quite sometime liao, but due to the shortage of funds i could only look and not buy. now,$1200 was somewhat more affordable than the usual $2000 plus, so i was seriously considering.I discussed with my dear and decided that the $1200 could be used for a better use. A lap top for me is just to update my blogs and check my mail... so i told my dad that its ok and forgo it.After 5 mins, my uncle suddenly turned up to pass some stuff to my parents, he suddenly asked if we needed a laptop as he got a free one when he subscribed to sarhub for something. so there, i bought it from him for $500!quite a good deal right? so here i am, typing on my new laptop. will update photos of it when i get the camera.

Work wise, i got offered a 6 months contract extension. Frankly, i am abit disappointed that i did not get what i asked for. My boss told me that this is the only thing that they can offer me at this moment now.. headcount problem. he went on to say all my good points and said that i was a good addition to the team. i am still considering as my boss said that regardless of whether i am a perm or contract, he will still train me te same. he will come up with a development plan for me, which is a good thing as i can learn alot under him. i can see that if i stay, the UBS brand name will rub off me and i can learn alot of stuff here. Its just that the 6 months contract is something that not that perfect but i can make do with it if.... i got a salary increase to compensate me for the disappointment!ahahah... the ever important deciding factor in our working life, salary.How do you ask for a salary increase>how to ask for a $500 increase in pay... how do you approach this? Whoever has successfully asked for a increase in pay, please let me know! i will be sitting down with him on tuesday to discuss this. on Friday, after the salary card was not on the table yet, i told my boss that i will think about it and tell him my answer next week. i think he realised that i am not so on board yet and brought him into the big boss's office for a talk.Both of them started talking to me about my good points and say that they really want me to stay.. i think i need to know how much would they be willing to pay me. the benefits of the contract is not that good sia...

okok.. my eyes are closing and my limewire is fully downloaded. going to sleep now..
