had a xmas party today at the office. One of the "Santarinas" who helped organise the party and the gifts. We had quite a big budget to work with and we had fun shopping with the company's money! Hee : ) always a pleasure to shop on other's pple money, dun feel the pinch. Had to think of separate gifts for the directors and above as they forked quite a lot of money to give presents to the non officers. I think we walked practically the whole of suntec and marina square to find something suitable for each and every one.. i think we did a good job, when they opened the presents, they seemed to be pretty pleased with it. Whew, all the walking paid off...
Din seem to have that much xmasy mood this year, perhaps cos dec is the busiest season for HR pple, only caught the mood this week when i was on leave and at orchard in midst of the rain shopping for presents for my family. Giving presents which are meaningless is not me, i have to think about the person's personality, likes and dislikes and my conversations with them to see if i can get something that they will be happy to get. i like to see the faces and them telling me that its a great gift. I believe that that is the spirit of giving presents. if you cant be bothered and just buy anything, seems abit ridiculous to even spend the money on it right?
As years go by, the excitement that you feel at xmas gets dimmer and dimmer... is it because as a child, you are not weighed down by the reality of life? sometimes i wish that i am a kid again.
