Dear has found a job! and it is a job that he really likes..it s in the industry that he always wanted to work in,a start up company in an MNC where he can get the perks of the MNC but still also be involved in a start up venture, which dear always wanted to do.i am really happy for him that he found his job so early.Got the job offer even before his exams even started. how li hai is that?

This is his first job offer, and i know after he got the letter, he wanted to accept it already but i advised him to continue sending out applications and to see what else is there in the job market.So he listened and went on with the job search while waiting for the first offer,went for quite a few first and second interviews and even got another job offer.He went down for the salary briefing and got the rudest shock of his life when the administration/HR manager turned out to be the biggest jerk in the world.Really ruined Dear's day and the reputation of HR man!read Dear's blog (http://www.mayfifteen.blogspot.com) for the full account.

There were some interviewers who told Dear that his expected salary of $2800 was too high and he should consider lower. One even wanted to offer $2300! Which is crazy, even management graduates earn more than that.Dear graduated from chemical engineering with honours, does that count for something?The average salary for his class is about $2800 and the highest someone got is $2950 so i think his expected salary is still alright. Nearly choked when i heard how much they want him to lower his salary.That s even lower than what i am getting now...

But after this encounter, it only made it more clear that the first job offer was the best one and he went to sign the offer letter on Friday.I think Dear is very pleased with how things turned out and it really boost his self confidence.My boy cant wait to go to work and is forgoing his holidays to start work earlier and to save money as well...keep telling him to enjoy his uni life, but the boy is so eager.Never mind, let him discover himself that work aint that cool ultimately.. haahahah....But i am very proud of dear,that someone else besides me saw the potential in dear. Jia You dear!

So that closes one chapter in Dear's life.4 years of studying is coming to an end. Another chapter is starting. Hopefully,the next chapter is smooth sailing for both of us.

Mum is now asking us to start looking for out flat cos flat prices are going to increase in 2008. Think she is abit too eager for me to move out... hmmm..i wonder why.
