Have not been blogging for ages... its been a rough patch for the recent weeks, staying in the office til 10pm definitely does not put you in the mood to blog. So i slacked off a bit from blogging..hahaha...
Today is a public holiday and so i am told the last one til August..sob.... when you work, public holidays are soooo appreciated... we are going to east coast with Dash, need to get some fresh air man. last week i was cooped in the office, sometimes the whole day somemore.
HR in my company is running alot of initatives at the same time and it has been a mad rush to met deadlines, extend deadlines and make sure that i dun screw up any of their reports.hahha...
Yesterday was quite lousy as there was a deadline and we knew that we had to stay late( on the eve of a public holiday somemore!) and to make things worse, a stupid manager tried to bully me! Ta ma de.... idiot... this manager has a lousy reputation already, been pushed by him once and now he s trying again, nearly succeeded in pushing me to the edge but luckily my managers pulled me back and protected me from his angry onslaught. i have no idea what he wanted but there are nicer ways of asking.if you were a nice manaager, i would have done it for you but no,you tried to bully me, of course you cant expect my managers to let you right? hmph...
anyway, nearly spoiled rest of the night but my guy manager came back from whenever he was to talk to this manager and scolded him...hahahaha... i feel my guy boss has a way with words. when he is scolding you,but doesnt seem uncouth and rude. it sounds so professional and polished..it sounds like feedback but when you dig deep down into his words, his words bites man....must learn from him... rocks...
Went for a townhall yesterday as well..disappointing in a way that HR was not recognised for the work we do and when we are recognised in the minute way, the recognition was given to someone else who DID not play a part in the recruitment of 888 client advisors. My two bosses were so furious that they shot a well concealed hate email to the head of MS & D who made the mistake,cc-ing my bis bosses in it too...lets see what happens next week.
but for me, its the head of WM who was the star during the townhall. Though he is not polished or not a man who makes an impressive speech, it was the manner and the way he said some stuff that endears to the heart.Though he is the head of WM, he said that he will be taking on his shoulders that we get back the employer of choice next yr.which top management can say that?he really brought himself down to the people & even said that this is the topic that is very close to his heart-people. i really felt that he mean it.
on to happier stuff: Dear is starting work next week and he is sure looking forward to it, but before that happens and before work engulfs us, we will take some time off for just the two of us.couple land here we come!hahaha
my family bought a huge kick ass LCD last week.My dad was actually already writing a list of which LCD was better some weeks ago and thought that we should look at the models together to get a consenus.
So we trooped down to tampines courts on sunday( minus the youngest as she had camp) and started looking. After many discussions,we settled on Philips 42 inch LCD Screen.super big can! still trying to adjust to the big screen. Look at it!

of course i will be watching travel & living right?
my dad likes the ambi lights that come with the tv, lights that will come on in different colours when the screens play something else. That s the reason he is willing to shed 3000 buckaroos for a tv he doesnt watch!
Yes, my dad does not watch tv, only during world cup he will watch....how weird is that?
See the ambi lights? When the screen turns colours, the lights will change accordingly. This is what attracted dad.
